Bodine incorporates inspection, test and measurement into the assembly
process based on the product requirements. Some of the typical processes
include:
- Vacuum dimensional gauging and matching
- Part presence and position inspection
- Dimensional gauging
- Vision inspection
- Functional testing
- Leak testing
- Flow testing
- Feature probing
- Press force monitoring
- Electrical and electronic tests
- Real-time and batch summary monitoring.
Gang Testing Modules Multiple test stations with fast, mechanically-actuated “clamp
up” of pallets.
- Maintains high line rates: achieve lengthy leak/flow or functional
tests, on-line, without reducing throughput
- Fast, reliable mechanical actuation reduces cycle time by minimizing
the time it takes to index accumulated pallets in and out of the
gang-testing module
- Simultaneous processing of multiple assemblies: 4, 6, 8, 10-up
or more
- Easily integrated with upstream and downstream non-synchronous
pallet conveyor or other automation
- Easy access to tooling for fast, simplified maintenance.
Typical Operations Pallets accumulate in a pre-stage station
and are then shuttled – simultaneously – to
multiple test stations where they are mechanically clamped. After
testing is complete, the pallets are accelerated out of the test
stations by the transfer, just as another set of pallets is being
transferred in for test. Design Features
- Metric chassis designed for standard limited-lube tooling
- Built with rugged vertical Sampson castings
that provide bearing support for upper and lower horizontal 2” diameter camshafts
that are spaced to permit the use of 12” diameter cams
- Single motor drive; cam-controlled tool motions are integrated
with motion of pallet or part indexer
Can be used for a wide range of quality verification, testing or other
operations. |
